Logistics Resolution Specialist

The specialist will be responsible for processing requests for engineering support services (Technical Referral) from Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP-WSS). This will require regular contact with NSWCPD engineers, Subject Matter Experts, Code 315, and OEMs/vendors, to develop a course of action to complete the support service request in the prescribed time frame. This position will require a tactful approach to elevate the visibility and priority of outstanding service requests and assemble additional technical data, as required or requested, by engineers to complete these tasks.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, manage and evaluate logistics and engineering actions required to support the mission, weapon system or program
  • Identify the specific requirements for the client in terms of money, material, facilities and services needed to provide technical resolution of support issues
  • Correlate specific requirements with available resources to ensure needed decisions are provided at the right time and place
  • Represent customer in various NSWCPD divisions, branches, and work spaces to facilitate timely responses to accepted workloads
  • Assist in the development of strategies and proposals to improve turn-around-times and quality of engineer responses to technical referrals



Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
  • 2-6 years of experience in DoD
  • Four Year College Degree or Technical Experience Equivalent
  • Navy technical background or DLA/NAVSUP supporting the Navy
  • Must be familiar with supply support and provisioning policies and acronyms


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the organization and functions of activities involved in providing engineering support.
  • Ability to review and evaluate feedback received from functional specialists to identify specific requirements and to develop resolutions needed to meet each technical requirement on time.
  • Ability to develop, revise, or update processes to facilitate engineering responses.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Familiar with MBPS, CDMD-OA, ICAPS, Haystack/Logiquest, FLIS, OARS, NDE, ONETOUCH, FEDMALL, NSEDR, PMSMIS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
  • Understanding of general project management terms, standards, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
  • Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate personal initiative to complete the work of the team as a whole.
  • Must be highly reliable and capable of meeting work schedule consistently.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong decision making ability and attention to detail.



Physical Demands and Expectations:

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
