Job Details Job Description The departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia are looking to hire a PhD scientist or neuro-oncologist physician-scientist. The successful candidate will be collaborative and will run a strong basic and translational research laboratory focused on glioma. Thomas Jefferson University covers a large population in Philadelphia, south NJ and Delaware. The team currently includes four neurosurgeons, three neuro-oncologists and three CNS radiation oncologists. The team works closely with clinicians and researchers at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center as well as the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience. The team holds weekly tumor board and pathology review meetings. The team is active in clinical trials and translational research. Clinical responsibilities (for physicians) include outpatient clinic taking care of patients with benign and malignant primary and metastatic brain tumors. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health is an NCI-designated consortium cancer center that includes researchers from Thomas Jefferson University and Drexel University.
