JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Summary

The Operations Manager, Community Safety Simulation Center (CSSC), oversees daily operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and innovative training environment. This role manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains accurate training records while fostering collaborations with internal teams and community partners. Key responsibilities include facilitating simulation programs, supporting content development, and coordinating with the Workforce Training and Professional Development (WTPD) team to promote the center's offerings. The Operations Manager drives growth by expanding programs, cultivating partnerships, and implementing best practices in safety education. By delivering high-quality, impactful training experiences, this position supports the center's mission to advance community safety and address emerging needs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation.

Operational Oversight and Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Community Safety Simulation Center, ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive environment for all activities.

  • Implement and manage staff and attendee procedures and policies to maintain order and consistency in the center.

  • Analyze and maintain training records with strict confidentiality, designing systems for secure storage and efficient retrieval to support compliance and reporting needs.

  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and industry regulations by coordinating and analyzing biannual safety audits of the center's facilities, equipment, and security protocols.

  • Oversee financial operations by managing and controlling the center's budget, ensuring accurate billing and invoicing, preparing comprehensive quarterly performance reports for leadership, evaluating both financial and operational metrics.

Collaboration and Business Planning

  • Collaborate with the WTPD team to advocate for the center across the Northcentral Technical College (NTC) district, elevating awareness of its offerings and potential impact.

  • Create partnerships with community stakeholders, including healthcare, K-12, religious institutions, and industries, to co-develop high-quality, industry-specific training simulations.

  • Strategize with the NTC marketing team to effectively promote the CSSC to external organizations and stakeholders in alignment with the College's strategic goals.

Program and Scenario Facilitation

  • Facilitate training scenarios within the center, guiding participants to ensure simulations align with educational objectives and safety standards.

  • Design, implement, and continuously refine procedures for staff and attendees to optimize the effectiveness and impact of training simulations.

  • Facilitate and deliver comprehensive safety education sessions, ensuring content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with established safety standards and best practices.

  • Cross-train in the Simulation Center Technology Manager to build a comprehensive knowledge base and enhance the overall participant experience.

Content Creation and Videography Coordination

  • Partner with the CSSC Technology Manager to expand training options, schedule regular updates, and elevate the overall participant experience.

  • Design and refine realistic and impactful simulation content by collaborating with internal teams and external safety and security experts.

  • Collaborate with the CSSC Technology Manager and videography team to design and produce high-quality educational materials that align with the center's mission.

  • Coordinate with internal and external security teams to establish recording protocols and manage site access for production sessions.

  • Support post-production efforts, ensuring all content aligns with center objectives and meets industry standards for safety education.

Growth Strategy and Community Engagement

  • Implement growth strategies to expand program offerings, increase attendance, and cultivate long-term partnerships.

  • Build and sustain relationships with community organizations to support the center's mission and address the broader community's needs.

  • Analyze trends in community safety education and integrate best practices to continuously enhance the quality and relevance of training programs.

Minimum Qualifications Required

In limited circumstances, NTC may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.

Education:Bachelor's Degree

Bachelors Degree in Business, IT, or a related field, work experience may be considered.

Experience:4 Years

Additional Experience Information:

  • At least 4,000 hours of direct occupational experience working in advanced interactive technology systems including simulation, audiovisual, or similar technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and working effectively with diverse populations in educational, professional, or community settings.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.

  • Experience or training in Trauma Informed Care, preferred, with an understanding of its application in educational or simulation content.

  • Experience with innovative educational or simulation technologies, preferred.

  • Experience in training or instruction in educational, professional, or community settings, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex documents; present topics to internal and external individuals of all levels.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions to critically create resolutions; interpret instructions in mathematical or diagram form with abstract and concrete variables.

Technical Skills:

Ability to perform complex operations in a variety of job-specific systems, understand functionality to apply advanced functions, manage/customize and create calculations with data.

Customer Service Skills:

Ability to understand complex concerns and formulate solutions; communicate professionally with various audiences in different situations.
