Job Purpose

The Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting of a specific region or group of dealerships. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, provides financial insights to support decision-making within the region. The Regional Controller reports directly to the Corporate Controller and works closely with dealership General Managers, and the executive team

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Honor Commitments:




  • Manage daily accounting activities for the region, ensuring timely completion of tasks.



  • Maintain accuracy and integrity in the region's general ledger accounts and financial records.




Create Positive Experiences:




  • Be a resource for questions from operations managers and personnel, providing clear and helpful guidance on financial matters.



  • Provide financial analysis as requested by senior managers, contributing to informed decision-making and positive outcomes for the region.




Foster Lifelong Learning:




  • Oversee experienced accounting staff and lead their development and growth within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement.



  • Research and resolve accounting issues, staying abreast of new accounting pronouncements to ensure US GAAP compliance.




Exhibit Pioneering Spirit:




  • Work with the Corporate accounting team to evaluate and revise policies and procedures to maintain effective internal controls, proactively identifying areas for improvement and innovation.



  • CEvaluate/maintain proper internal controls in the region, pioneering new approaches to ensure financial integrity.




Demonstrate Good Stewardship:




  • Manage the preparation and distribution of the region's internal financial statements and reports with the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.



  • Review and approve journal entries, income statements, and balance sheets reconciliation, demonstrating responsible stewardship of financial resources.



  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and address any audit findings.




Other Duties as Assigned:




  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.



  • CPA, CMA or similar certification preferred.



  • Five or more years of supervisory or senior level accounting experience preferred.



  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting.



  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.



  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.



  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
