Description
Mazak Corporation is looking for a National Parts Manager to join the North American Parts Department. The Parts Manager will manage and direct the company's after-market parts business, corporate purchasing, corporate shipping and accessory functions. Manage and direct the activities of employees assigned to the North American Parts Center.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Coordinate, manage and direct the activities of the North American Parts Center including item master, procurement, inventory control, receiving, stocking, order entry and billing, new machine accessories, equipment and facilities.
  • Direct, develop and evaluate the performance of associates assigned to the North American Parts Center.
  • Resolve issues related to the functions of the North American Parts Center.
  • Coordinate, manage and direct the activities involved in complying with governmental requirements including international import/export, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Maintain DOT Dangerous Goods certifications and training requirements.
  • Negotiate vendor prices, freight prices and charges, and maintain contract agreements for the departmental functions.
  • Develop and administer a departmental budget and monitor departmental expenses.
  • Develop and administer an inventory plan to ensure customer service metrics, while keeping ratio of inventory to sales within management guidelines.
  • Find solutions to manufacturers no longer supplying original parts.
  • Foster teamwork and maintain appropriate working relationships with all areas of the company.
  • Participate as a member of the company's management team by attending management level meetings and functioning as a contributor and decision maker.
  • Facility responsibility.




Education/Certification:

* Bachelor's degree required

* CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Manager) Certification of American Production and Inventory Control Society preferred.

* Department of Transportation (DOT)/International Air Traffic Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Certification preferred



Skills:

* Seven plus years' experience in materials management.

* Three plus years' experience in a management position.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Expertise in PC based ERP sales and inventory systems.

* Experience in quoting or arranging freight shipments both international and domestic.

* Skilled in providing international shipping documents such as commercial invoices.

* Strong inventory management capabilities.

* Knowledge in automated warehouse design and development.

* Proven track record in team development and leadership.
