Responsibilities

As our Adventure Therapy Facilitator, you'll lead clients through thrilling activities that challenge them and encourage self-discovery. You'll create a supportive and fun environment where clients can reflect on their experiences and connect their adventures to their personal journeys. Get ready to inspire, motivate, and make a difference!

What You'll Do:

  • One-on-One Connection: Meet with residents/clients individually at least once a week to provide support, encouragement, and a friendly ear.
  • Group Leader Extraordinaire: Facilitate dynamic group sessions as determined by the Clinical Director, ensuring everyone feels included and engaged.
  • Team Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our awesome treatment team to approve all outings and activities for residential clients-let's make it fun and meaningful!
  • Documentation Dynamo: Keep track of clinical documentation (progress notes and group notes) in a timely manner-because organization is key!
  • Team Spirit: Attend weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision to share ideas and collaborate with your amazing colleagues.
  • Community Connector: Develop a schedule for off-campus meetings (when appropriate) for residents to attend community support groups like AA, Alanon, NA, and OA.
  • Resource Explorer: Find and assign alternative community meetings by accessing other resources such as Smart Recovery and Celebrate Recovery-let's broaden those horizons!
  • Ambassador of Fun: Represent Newport Healthcare at meetings, trainings, and conferences, showcasing our commitment to innovative care.
  • Certification Champion: Obtain and maintain necessary certifications to ensure you're equipped to provide the best support possible.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in clinical psychology, counseling, social work, human services or a similar field required.
  • Associate number with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or eligible to be a Psychological Assistant with the Board of Psychology required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience providing group and individual therapy to adolescents/young adults in crisis with complex mental health background required.
