Job Description

Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for an Economic Services Director in our External Affairs department. The primary functions of this position will be to prepare distribution rates and other charges. Support regulatory activities at the Maryland Public Service Commission ("PSC") and PJM. Assist with rate development and reporting on power supply portfolio. Manages preparation of allocated cost of service studies. Coordinates load research work. Manages development of load forecasts. Lastly, this position will manage economic and rate support to Energy & Technology Division for distributed energy, conservation and energy efficiency programs

This position requires a four-year college degree, with emphasis in business, economics, finance, accounting, or engineering. Advanced degree or certification such as CPA desired.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of six years of progressive experience with an electric utility or similar business with emphasis in developing and implementing programs and activities for the general public. Must be computer literate and have good writing skills.

The starting salary range for this position is $123,600 - $166,900. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401k 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
