Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager focused on industrial water and wastewater design projects in Brown and Caldwell's Private Sector Business Unit (PSBU). The required location for this position is Houston, Texas.

Detailed Description:

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) position is charged with leading the growth and development of the PSBU through the application of knowledge and expertise in the field of industrial wastewater, engineering, construction, client services and project management. The SPM will also achieve the firm's prominence through application of best technical, project management and client services practices and through the strategic vision, persuasive leadership, coordination with multiple groups within BC and application of necessary directive efforts. The SPM is an engaged and action-oriented position who will make decisions based on significant expertise and experience in the subject matter, instinct, and in coordination with PSBU leadership.

Job Expectations:



  • Serve as design project manager and/or senior technical resource for key Energy clients. Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver projects on schedule and budget and according to client critical success factors.
  • Manage and execute work on water and wastewater facilities including comprehensive planning, preliminary design, and final design projects
  • Lead project team in planning and/or designing a major engineering project and coordinate special planning, economic, and engineering studies
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients for professional meetings
  • Successfully manage and deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Utilize internal project management tools and resources.
  • Develop high-value client relationships, while representing BC with key clients and teaming partners.
  • Engage client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.
  • Ensure quality client services, clarity on work products, and delivery of high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency
  • Supervise, delegate, and oversee the work of technical staff and engineers.
  • Participate in BC's QA/QC process.
  • Utilizes internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration on projects and opportunities.
  • Support development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, and effective communication.
  • Meet identified performance metrics including project budgets and schedules.
  • Leverage resources, experience and skills of the firm to support project and client goals.
  • Communicate key risks, mitigations, and policies to project stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching to project team members.
  • Make decisions guided by organizational and functional strategies and objectives.
  • Deliver the BC experience to employees by providing guidance and coaching staff and ensuring timely/meaningful feedback is given to support career development and progression.


Desired Skills and Experience:



  • BS in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.)
  • Preferred MS in engineering
  • Preferred PE registration in Texas or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in industrial water/wastewater engineering and design project management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead strong project teams meeting project requirements, and provide strong business growth results in management roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience
  • Ability to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.


Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location B: $160,000- $219,000
