Coterra is hiring a Land Technician in Midland, Texas

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Land Technician for Coterra, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of Land professionals. You will load, verify, manipulate, and analyze data related to oil and gas lease obligations. This position is located onsite in Midland, Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Land professionals with reviews of obligations to ensure contractual compliance

  • Assist with or create land databases and files

  • Assist with or create documents including, but not limited to Letters of Offering, Rights-of-Ways, Lease agreements and other land related documents

  • Assist with or prepare contracts for agreements on matters such as farmouts, swaps, or acquisitions

  • Assist with or perform research on land related matters such as leases, contracts, regulatory issues, or ownership

  • Record and process documents at courthouse and tracks payments

  • Review and code invoices to correct AFE and forwards for approvals and payment

Job requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Working knowledge of oil and gas software, such as AIRIES, or Petra preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail with high level of accuracy

  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to adapt to changing and fast paced working environment

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Industry experience may substitute as equivalent for degree

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Land Technician or related field.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than 5%; Travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training.
