Summary Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership for Warehouse Operations including Inventory Control, Logistics Management, and employee development and training. Essential Functions & Responsibilities This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Provide leadership and management to all warehousing operations, including customer order fulfillment, inventory control, receiving, and shipping functions to reduce costs and increase reliability. Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of material, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Make recommendations concerning the most efficient use of resources, including manpower levels, equipment, processes, and procedures to continuously reduce error rates, improve delivery and accuracy of product to the customer in order to maximize customer satisfaction. Work to improve communications between the warehouse and other internal departments. Screen, hire and help train employees and enforce policies to ensure an effective delivery of products to the customer in a cost-efficient manner. Assist in the design of procedures to improve inventory accuracy. Responsible for cost management and price rate negotiation of warehouse-related vendors. Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills. Other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. *Education and Experience* A minimum of a high school education or equivalent supplemented by additional course work in Procurement, Logistics and Supervisory/Managerial techniques. 3 to 5 years of experience as a warehouse coordinator or an equivalent combination of training and experience Experience with MRP/ERP systems as they relate to Shipping, Receiving and Warehousing. *Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Familiarity with company products, especially handrailing systems. Knowledge of stock and inventories generally warehoused in the facility as well as computer driven inventory systems Knowledge of general company and warehouse policies and procedures, and the ability practically to apply such knowledge. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization, which requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to coach employees into team players. Good organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Supervisory Responsibilities: Plans and assigns work; interviews, hires, coaches, and conducts performance evaluations of all warehouse personnel. Regular supervision of the warehouse, and clerical staff; general supervision of manual workers through Team leaders. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arm, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
