Group Home Worker Kinderhof

As a Group Home Worker, you will be responsible for creating a therapeutic and nurturing home environment for youth, ages 12 through 21 in a community-based group home setting. The goal of the position is to maintain a safe, secure atmosphere conducive to the youth's positive growth and change. This includes teaching daily and independent living skills, mentoring, and promoting community integration.

Job Responsibilities

• Ability to plan and engage youth in daily independent living skills including but not limited to: budgeting, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking.
• Serve as a mentor, demonstrating positive social skills and actively promoting involvement in school and community engagement activities.
• Assist youth with daily responsibilities and routines including homework, meal preparation, hygiene, and household chores.
• Demonstrated decision-making, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, with attention to detail.
• Ability to form therapeutic relationships with youth characterized by empathy, authenticity, and positive regard.
• Work with a culturally and economically diverse population.
• Knowledge of group dynamics preferred.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required;
  
  
  
  • Associates or BachelorsDegree in Human Services preferred.
  
  
  
  
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with at risk youth preferred; ideally ina residential, or youth development setting.
  
  
  
  • experience working in youth programming, coaching/teaching, childcare or other human service fieldspreferred.
  
  
  
  
• TCI, First Aid/CPR certification required, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Reliable availability for evening and weekend shifts.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license with acceptabledrivinghistory to the Agency.
• MicrosoftOffice skills required.

Schedule

Pay
