SUMMARY

Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  * Ensures safety of all employees on shift. Promotes safety programs to increase participation. * Supervises employees, including employee hiring and retention, performance reviews and discipline. * Provides support to other departments as needed. * Manages Team Leads and growth plans. * Coordinates maintenance of equipment and PMs with maintenance department * Ensures quality of all products produced and performs quality checks. * Tracking of plant scrap to keep it within set standards. * Ensures employee training is completed properly and prepares a cross-training Matrix for employee growth. * Schedules Equipment daily, weekly, monthly to hit budget goal. * Maintains good housekeeping on the production floor. * Approves hours of work and payroll * Assists in quarterly inventory ensuring accuracy of inventory tags. * Enforces all rules and regulations. Safety * Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures. * Wears and maintains all required PPE. * Keeps assigned work area clean at all times. * Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation. * Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications
  * Supervises leads and hourly manufacturing in the shop

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in business or related area or equivalent experience
• 3+ years in manufacturing environment
• 1-2 years supervisory experience

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lifting - Up to 25 lbs.
• Standing - 8 or more hours per day
• Walking - Off and on, 4-6 hours per day
• Body Positions - Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms
• Grasping - Both hands, occasionally
• Sitting - Occasionally
• Pushing Effort - Occasionally
