Overview

The Intern will join a fast-paced environment and a collaborative, results-driven Investor Relations team within The RMR Group, a leading U.S. alternative asset management company, unique for its focus on commercial real estate (CRE) and related businesses. The successful candidate will support the goals and objectives of RMR's Investor Relations department, which serves as the nexus between finance, marketing and securities law compliance to enable the most effective two-way communication between six publicly traded companies and the investment community. As part of these communications, the IR department highlights and reinforces each company's overall vision and strategy.

The Intern will be responsible for supporting a variety of assigned responsibilities and ad-hoc projects in support of the Company's investor relations program. During the internship, this person will be afforded a sense of ownership, the ability to put existing and new skills to practice and the personal satisfaction of contributing to the development of RMR's investor facing collateral and communications. This role also provides the opportunity to learn about the CRE industry and participate in networking events and company meetings.



Responsibilities

Working with the IR Associate, Manager, Director and Senior Vice President, the Intern will:

    Assist in producing reports containing analyst models, consensus estimates, pertinent research reports and peer metrics that enable the IR team and management to gauge relative company valuation and investor/analyst sentiments/expectations.
  • Help to create company-specific intelligence reports for management that track data, including shareholder ownership, peer metrics and sell-side analyst models, to name a few. Works with Manager and IROs to analyze the data and help influence future IR activities.
  • Analyze and prepare peer earnings competitive intelligence for senior leadership.
  • Work with Investor Relations team to enhance and maintain investor websites.
  • Assist in preparation for quarterly financial results reporting, conference calls, shareholder meetings, conferences and other events.
  • Support the overall Investor Relations department on an ad-hoc Assist with day-to-day needs and long-term special projects.
  • Provide reception desk coverage on a rotating basis.


Qualifications

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.
  • Currently a student at an accredited college or university. The preferred course of study includes some combination of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Communications, or a related area of study.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong writing abilities to assist with drafting copy for various uses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of FactSet, Bloomberg, Alphasense and/or Nasdaq IR Insight tools a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent organizational, research, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, professional, resourceful, and client-service focused. General interest in Wall Street, CRE and investing.
  • Not eligible for course credit.
