Job Description

Purpose:

The Foundry Tooling Center Supervisor leads, manages and optimizes the output of the Foundry Tooling Center. Leveraging the team to create world class foundry tooling solutions.

Key Performance Indicators:

Sustainability:

a. Machining Utilization of 80%.

b. 98% on time tooling promise.

Customer Experience:

a. First pass tooling approval of 95%.

Leadership:

a. Score 4.5/5 on 360 review (.2% incremental growth per year).

Core Functions:

Leadership (30%): Effectively communicate and guide team members by conducting daily start-up meetings, build relationships with team members and serve as a resource to answer questions, understand processes, and drive quality control standards. Actively collaborates with managers, supervisors, and team members to successfully troubleshoot, foresee potential problems, and identify improvement opportunities. Encourage development of team members through performance conversations. Identifies learning and development opportunities, seizes coaching opportunities, and solicit feedback. Mitigate safety related matters through consistent and clear communication on proper department procedures while modifying and enhancing processes as needed to guarantee safety and efficiency.

Project Management (35%): Help conduct Launch meetings for all jobs running through the Tooling Center. Review the daily machine schedule and ensure the programs, tooling, and materials are available for the next job to be started. Update a weekly job status sheet to be used to communicate with customers

Development and Training (20%): Partner with the programmers to troubleshoot programs, tooling, and quality issues. Create a team atmosphere that allows possible solutions for enhancement/improvement.

Administrative (15%): Manage data to provide an accurate and clear picture of the Foundry Tooling Center. Manages and coordinates EHS responsibilities by preforming and ensuring EHS related items are completed. Track and communication improvement outcomes to allow for thorough understanding of the impact on the company.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong programming background & mathematical aptitude in Trigonometry/geometry. Metallurgy, foundry tooling processes are a plus. CAD/CAM experience considered.

Education & Experience

Required:

-High school diploma & 8 years of CNC machining experience with 5 years of programming experience required.

Preferred:

-Associate's degree or diploma (CNC technical degree) with 2-3 years or programming/machining experience in a manufacturing environment with 5-Axis & 5 years of strong, proven leadership experience.
