The Tax Accountant will assist the Tax Director with required compliance, filing and accounting for taxes across the portfolio of assets.

Responsibilities?

  • Pull required company information for Federal, State and Local outside service providers for review and assist with compilation.
  • Assist with tax provision(s) for company's Audited Financial Statement(s).
  • Determine taxable and non-taxable transactions for Property and Use tax purposes for review.
  • Track all property tax payments, bills and perform summary analysis across entire portfolio
  • Assist with REIT asset and income test(s) and co-ordinate flow of information with outside service provider.
  • Assist with the company's fixed asset system.
  • Manage tax notices and prepare responses for review in a timely manner
  • Assist with the Company's Property Tax system and other tax software(s).
  • Update company registers that effect taxable transactions and assist with customer tax credit(s) and revenue transaction(s).
  • Work with sales teams in identifying taxable and non taxable transactions for customers.
  • Assist with State, Local and Federal Audit(s)
  • Prepare tax journal entries for review and approval.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Required 1 year's tax accounting and compliance experience
  • Required Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) tax experience preferred.
  • NetSuite/Avalara experience preferred
  • CPA is preferred
