The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery/Physician Surgeon.

Position Summary
This is a clinical practice position specializing in neurosurgery which may include any of the following subspecialties: cerebrovascular, spine, functional, oncology, vascular, pain or general neurosurgery. Must participate in clinical activities, teaching and potential research programs. Also must participate in training programs for residents and fellows.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clinical Practice to include outpatient clinical activities, surgical responsibilities, rounding, inpatient and telehealth consultations and call coverage
  • Education of residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committees
  • Development of research programs
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD, board eligible, completed neurosurgical residency
  • Completion of endovascular surgery fellowship 
  • Demonstrated teaching experience
  • Potential for or evidence of scholarly pursuits
