Our rapid growth and increasing demands for our services has created a need for a highly motivated individual to join our Risk Management team as a Loan Review Manager in our Southeast, MI region.

Your role.

The Loan Review Specialist position will work within Plante & Moran, PLLC's Financial Institutions Group-Risk Management Team. Responsibilities include performing credit consulting work, including loan review, portfolio and bank due diligence. This includes gathering information from bank management, lending officers and credit officers, identifying areas of credit and underwriting risk, identifying areas for improvement in loan administration practices, assisting in the rating of loans and examining for completeness of loan file and legal documentation that will be used in reports. Duties include:

  • Lead examinations of financial institutions; conducting loan review engagement similar to bank safety and soundness examinations
  • Performing risk and controls reviews of credit origination operations and loan administration and servicing operations
  • Performing independence and operation effectiveness reviews
  • Developing policy and procedures for credit operations with bank management
  • Performing due diligence on acquisitions of loan portfolios
  • Performing interpretation of regulatory reporting requirements and capabilities
  • Supervision of staff on engagement and have responsibility for the management of services to clients which includes staff scheduling, setting budgets and pricing, performance review of staff on various engagements, mentoring/sharing technical knowledge, etc.
  • Using automated tools to create written reports containing timely and useful information
  • Handling of periodic projects (assisting with billing, special analysis requested by Partners, etc)
  • Developing relationships with clients and participating in networking/business development activities
  • Engage in professional development activities, including completion/renewal of professional certification(s)

The qualifications.

  • 5+ years of credit analysis/lending or loan review training, typically through bank programs or regulatory work experience

OR

  • 5+ years of experience with performing operational and/or risk management audits of banks, supervisory examinations of safety and soundness matters (e.g., credit, asset/liability management, operations, etc.) as a member of a federal or state banking agency, or experience as a member of a bank's risk management function of a banking of diversified financial services organization
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting is required. CPA, CIA, CBA or CFSA helpful

This is a non-exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

Salary
We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits.

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review theposition location for theapplicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows:

$9,166.67 to $10,000.00

Illinois monthly base range is as follows:
