Job Description:

The School District of Milton is seeking applicants for a one-year 1.0 FTE 7th and 8th Grade Academic Interventionist teaching position at Milton Middle School. This position will be providing targeted academic support to students who are struggling to meet grade-level expectations. This role emphasizes closing achievement gaps by delivering data-driven, small-group, and one-on-one interventions in either reading or math, based on the qualifications and experiences of the candidate. A competitive starting salary of $48,816 is offered for a 190-day contract for individuals that have a Bachelor's degree. Additional compensation is available for candidates with prior years of teaching experience in public education and additional education beyond a bachelor's degree. Salary will be prorated based on the individual's start date with the district. A highly competitive benefits package is also included.

Qualifications:

The School District of Milton is seeking individuals to play a pivotal role in supporting student achievement in English Language Arts or Mathematics. As an Academic Interventionist, successful candidates will offer individual or small group instruction to enhance student engagement in the learning process, particularly for those working towards proficiency. This role includes the responsibility of monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance. Desired qualities in potential candidates include organizational skills, flexibility, and strong communication abilities. Additionally, there may be opportunities for involvement in co-curricular coaching and advisory positions. Those who thrive in this position will collaboratively work with colleagues, making a positive and impactful contribution to both the school and district.

It is required that applicants must hold or be eligible for WI DPI Certification in Regular Education - 1777 and have the appropriate position code for seventh and eighth grade students.

It is preferred that applicants have or are eligible for WI DPI Certification in English - 1300 or Mathematics - 1400 and have the appropriate position code for seventh and eighth grade students.

Applicants that are completing their Bachelor of Education program in December of 2024 will be eligible to apply for this position provided they obtain a letter from their university, indicating the expected completion date of their program, the position/subject of the teaching license they will be eligible for, as well as the development level/low-high grade they will be certified in.
