The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, and the most significant hotel project in the city for the last forty years. The property features seven outlets for drinking and dining, a signature spa, fitness center, and rooftop pool. It boasts more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and caters to the most discerning clientele.



Job Description

The On Call Banquet Barback is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by developing relationships with guests, providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests' needs. The ideal Barback comprehends the cocktail/beverage menus, anticipates the needs of the bartenders to ensure all products and supplies are present.



Responsibilities

    Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages, must retain and maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
  • Work with bartenders and ensure all necessary supplies are stocked throughout the event.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, sanitation awareness, hotel standards, and local laws.
  • Responsible for ensuring high-quality bar sets, service, food and beverage quality and presentation.
  • Respond to guests' requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by management including but not limited to assisting housepersons with set up and break down of all the banquet bar areas as needed.


Qualifications

  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Highly developed customer service skills; possessing a friendly approachable demeanor and strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • A minimum of relevant banquet bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
