The McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas Austin has an opening for a senior faculty member. The Department is seeking a visionary leader that can lead collaborative academic and industrial teams conducting translational research in fields relevant to industrial decarbonization, low energy process separation technologies, and carbon capture. The successful candidate would become a tenured faculty member in the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering, would lead collaborative activities through the Process Science and Technology Center (https://ceer.utexas.edu/research/process-science-and-technology-center) and Center for Energy and Environmental Resources (https://ceer.utexas.edu/), and contribute broadly to research, teaching and service in the Department.

Applicants should have received a doctoral degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to mentor graduate students, teach our diverse undergraduate and graduate student populations, develop a sponsored research program, collaborate with other faculty from a wide range of backgrounds, and be involved in service to the university and profession.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, a statement on plans for leading interdisciplinary research programs, a mentoring statement, and a statement of teaching philosophy and experience. At least five references who will submit original letters of reference should be included.

Successful candidates will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification form and provide documents to verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. A security sensitive background check will be conducted on the applicant selected.
