First Merchants is seeking a Commercial Administration Assistant Director to join our team! This role will assist the commercial administration team by analyzing business problems and helping to implement more efficient and effective operations solutions. This position will also serve as the administrator for all Commercial Rewards plan incentive participants, coordinating with employees, managers, and the financial planning team to ensure all information is correct.

As part of this role you will:



  • Provide support and guidance to Commercial Bank to ensure loan portfolio management for key metrics.
  • Support the Executive Director, Commercial Administration function for all commercial bank teams in the First Merchants footprint.
  • Develop and enhance onboarding and training new employees to the Commercial Bank Team.
  • Serve as the administrator of the Commercial Rewards incentive plan, as well as complete sales contest tracking for the Commercial bank.
  • Analyze and collect data for various business reports, conduct business process reviews, develop internal processes, and ensure regular auditing and evaluation of practices and procedures to ensure consistency and minimize risk.
  • Serve as a business/applications analyst for the Commercial leadership team, and act as a line liaison for the collection of data.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Commercial Administration group to ensure loan portfolio management.


To be successful in this position, we require the following:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of commercial banking administration management or related experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of business intelligence, business analyst or related experience, including reporting writing experience using Microsoft Access, SQL or similar technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access, Excel and PowerPoint.


    The following would be a plus:




    • Experience in banking or the financial services industry.



    • College degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business, or a related field.



    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI.


    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task between several projects.
