JOB MISSION:

New Balance is seeking a Sr Manager to lead our Omnichannel Strategy within the Global Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Team. This individual will be responsible for building a $1B Omni business by 2030.

Over the past five years, New Balance has significantly invested in our DTC Channels - expanding our store footprint, and our ecommerce tech stack - and has achieved double-digit growth as a result. To drive our next chapter of growth, we are working to connect our Physical and Digital channels and create a seamless shopping experience for our Global Independent consumer. Key Omni capabilities will include, but are not limited to: Buy Online Return In-Store, Buy Online Pick-Up In-Store, Endless Aisle, and 3D Foot scanning.

We need a Global Leader who can define our Omni Strategy and work with Global and Regional stakeholders to execute it. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for digital transformation and an obsession with consumer experience. As demonstrated in the diverse set of responsibilities below, we need someone with exceptional collaboration, organization and communication skills who can work across many different facets of New Balance's global organization. This role is based at New Balance Headquarters in the Boston area.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As the Global Leader, this individual will be singularly responsible for the success of our Omni business. They will work with respective business functions to accomplish the following:

  • Global Omni Vision: Develop a comprehensive vision for NB's Omni strategy, incorporating our value proposition, consumer insights and industry trends.
  • Consumer Experience (CX) Standards: Define priority Omni journeys, detailing key consumer touchpoints across Ecomm, Retail and Marketing, and establish expectations for each.
  • Business Opportunity: Assess the financial opportunity of Omni initiatives, calculating expected cost savings, incremental sales and consumer acquisition valuations to drive prioritization.
  • Merchandising Strategy: Leverage Omni capabilities to create an "endless aisle", ensuring we're always able to meet customer needs regardless of their shopping preferences.
  • Technology Capabilities: Partner with Ecomm and Retail technology teams to develop the technical features necessary to achieve our Omni ambition.
  • Retail Design, Operations & Training: Ensure stores are designed with Omni in mind (ex: Pick Up Counter) and that associates are trained - and perhaps incentivized - on Omni capabilities.
  • Marketing: Determine how to communicate Omni capabilities to consumers, integrating messaging with membership and other marketing activities.
  • Finance: Create an Omni P&L to effectively measure the impact of our combined Retail, Ecomm and Omni sales channels within a geography.
  • Regional Rollout & Optimization: Lead Omni execution across 5 Regional Business Units (NA, EMEA, APAC, Japan, China), all with nuanced consumer needs and technology capabilities.
  • Reporting: Utilize PowerBI to create real-time dashboards and visualizations to track the success of Omni capabilities across the globe.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in omnichannel strategy or digital transformation.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and proficiency in data analytics tools like PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration abilities, and experience in a global environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for digital transformation and consumer experience.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects

Flexible Work Schedule

Our North American hybrid model encourages rich in-person experiences, showcasing our commitment to teamwork and connection, while maintaining flexibility for associates. New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
