About This Role

Create 3D animations and graphics using tools such as 3D Studio Max depicting a wide variety of complex events like vehicle collisions, train derailments, aviation accidents, and fires and explosions. Coordination with a team of other technologists and consultants at ESi will be necessary for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating graphics and animations in 3D software in support of projects that are mostly litigation-driven.
  • Working with diverse forms of data collected in the field including photographs, drone photos, laser scanner data (point clouds), and field notes with diagrams and measurements.
  • Post-processing point cloud and photo data (FARO, drone, and/or ground-based photographs).
  • Coordination with the data collection team at all levels, mission planning, data collection, and post-processing.
  • Using photogrammetry to analyze photos and video.
  • Video and photo editing.
  • Basic evidentiary documentation (photo/video).
  • Traveling occasionally to assist in data collection or business development as required.
  • Preparing charts, graphs, sketches, diagrams, flow charts and other documentation to detail work product.
  • Working directly with subject matter experts (consultants) to develop scope and budgets for graphics production projects and ultimately producing graphics in collaboration with them.
  • Explaining the source of information relied upon to subject matter experts so they can verify the foundations for your work product.

Education:

  • 3 years related to computer graphics, animation, modeling experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Skills/Abilities or Other Qualifications:

  • High technical and computer competency required.
  • Experience using 3D Studio Max or other animation software.
  • Experience working with other CAD/computer graphics software (Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, SolidWorks, FARO Scene, Reality Capture, Cloud Compare, Substance Painter, etc.).
  • Experience with animation and modeling techniques as well as texturing and lighting.
  • Ability to create complex 3D models and scenes.
  • Familiarity with laser scan data and post-processing.
  • Familiarity or experience using photogrammetry techniques.
  • Experience or willingness to learn developing in Unreal Engine or other game engine.
  • Experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere.
  • The ability to write code inside of 3D Studio Max and/or Unreal Engine or other programming experience is desirable.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
