About the Role

As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in supporting import/export compliance programs for the business units in USA to ensure compliance with customs regulations. It requires collaboration across multiple departments to ensure trade compliance with regard to valuation, country of origin, tariff classification and export control. The role will drive continuous improvement in our processes through automation and/or process changes and be critical to the success of our business.

What You Will Do
  • Support the import/export audit program, measure broker performance, execute after action review to determine root cause to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct Quarterly check with custom brokers to evaluate performance, review compliance, review trends and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and achieve cost savings through the use of trade agreements, US Goods Returned, Temporary Import Bond and continuous improvement to trade process.
  • Develop and implement program for the management of Antidumping & Countervailing Duties (AD/CVD), Section 232 and 301 duties, Quotas, and others.
  • Create and deploy compliance training program on topics such as: Valuation, Recordkeeping, Import/export compliance, Automated Export System (AES) Filing and Reporting, Broker Management, and other compliance related topics.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance within organization regarding all aspects of trade compliance, including customs duty, import/export procedure and export control.
  • Manage and communicate with CBP to resolve import issues, CF28, CF29, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Travel

Occasional domestic travel required.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. Qualifications
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in law, International Business, International Trade, Engineering or related area.
  • 3-5 years of progressive trade compliance experience required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Partner Government Agencies (PGA) requirements, Federal Registry, Import/Export Licensing, Forced Labor, ACE, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of Quotas, Anti-Dumping/Countervailing Duty, Section 232, 301 and other duties.
  • Able to actively lead/participate in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to detect and mitigate risks.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within government departments.
  • Confirms, corrects and authorizes HTS classifications for ongoing audit, tariff engineering and compliance activities resulting in accurate master data initiatives.
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Experience in people leadership strongly preferred.
  • Professional designations are preferred - Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS), Licensed Customs Broker or other trade compliance program.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
