Retirement Analyst

Full-time, Hourly

Hourly Range: $23.51/hour - $27.14/hour

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: HR - Retirement Plan Services (RPS) Position Type: Full-time

Location: Milwaukee County Courthouse - 901 N. 9th St. Milwaukee, WI 53233

Job Summary: Milwaukee County Human Resources is looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Retirement Plan Services team. The Retirement Analyst is part of a team that provides all aspects of retirement benefits administration with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and the accurate and timely payment of member benefits. Job Responsibilities:



  • Calculate pension benefits and verify the accuracy of existing pension calculator tools. Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of calculation, communication, and documentation.
  • Communicate with members effectively regarding their benefits via phone, email, and in person. Research, resolve and explain complex member issues.
  • Utilize workflow management tools such as the RPS pension administration system to perform data updates and conduct research. Occasional research of historical records (DVD data, microfiche, paper records) during the calculation process.
  • Research, identify, and provide feedback on existing practices and documentation; participate in workgroup discussions, problem-solving committees, and program updates.
  • Facilitate pre-retirement seminars to Milwaukee County employees. Present benefit information to new employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Required Education, License/Certification and Experience:



  • Associate's degree or higher in Math, Business, Statistics, Finance, Economics or closely related field required
  • -OR-
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. and two (2) years or more of Pension or Benefits experience required
  • Intermediate or Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word and Outlook required (Advanced proficiency in Excel with knowledge of macros, pivot tables, etc. is a plus!)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC) preferred
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
