The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is an independent nonprofit organization authorized by Congress in 2010. Its mission is to fund research that will provide patients, their caregivers and clinicians with the evidence-based information needed to make better-informed healthcare decisions. Position Summary

The Media Relations intern will report to the Senior Manager of Integrated Communications and Promotions and assist in the development and execution of promotional email campaigns.

The Communications department is seeking an intern who will have the opportunity to:

  • Create a report sharing pros-cons and highlights of top 4-6 media monitoring tools, with pricing comparisons and capabilities comparisons.
  • Compile best practices of like-organizations digital media kits (targeting 5-7).
  • Draft communications and media guidance for upcoming PCORI announcements.
  • Assist in content development and press outreach through media list management.

Pay Range and Employment Status:

Interns shall be classified as temporary employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits.

  • Bachelor's hourly pay: $17.50
  • Master's and above hourly pay: $20.00

Required Experience

Ideal candidates will be pursuing their undergraduate education in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.
