Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Office of Research Compliance & Integrity ( ORCI) is responsible for the oversight of research integrity and compliance matters in the areas of:

  • Ethical conduct of human and animal research
  • Responsible conduct of research
  • Biosafety
  • Federal and state regulations
  • Export control
  • International travel or collaboration policies
  • External professional activities
  • Conflicts of interest and commitment
  • Security

Position Summary
This position serves as the Conflict of Interest ( COI) Officer and provides support in the human subject's institutional review board ( IRB) as an analyst. The COI Officer, ensures procedures adhere to regulatory requirements while also designing processes to assist faculty and staff with the completion of conflict of interest and notice of intent disclosures. The COI Officer also implements procedures that support a culture of research compliance and ethics while continuing to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and policy.

Duties related to IRB analyst are the management of IRB submissions and analysis IRB protocols to ensure accuracy, ethical congruity, compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience working with federal regulations and compliance or equivalent education and experience.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Juris Doctorate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience assessing compliance risks in a university
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels in a university setting and as a team member
  • Ability to approach problems and decisions analytically
  • Experience analyzing, writing, implementing, and explaining policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of the Cayuse system and other research administration electronic systems
