Job Overview

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the production planning activities to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products and services. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to develop and maintain production schedules, manage resources, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Planning Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing production processes and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve production goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in production planning, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Planning: Work with Managers and Supervisors to establish and monitor production schedules that meet customer needs. Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders to review, prioritize, and schedule production jobs.
  • Maintenance History Management: Establish and maintain comprehensive maintenance records for all completed jobs to ensure accurate historical data.
  • Contract Execution Support: Prepare scopes of work for internal and external jobs, initiate requests for parts and materials, and coordinate with the warehouse department and vendors for services and equipment provision.
  • Preventive Maintenance Scheduling: Develop, monitor, and adjust preventive maintenance schedules for equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Information Integrity: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of information in job files, maintaining high standards of data management.
  • Data and Reporting: Generate and provide data and reports to support departmental budgets and measure key performance indicators.
  • ERP System Management: Open and manage jobs in ERP systems (SAP/CDK), ensuring accurate and timely data entry and tracking.
  • Invoice Production: Produce and manage invoices related to production jobs, ensuring timely and accurate billing.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in a planning or production role
  • 1-5 years of supervisory experience
