Overview

Paradyme is looking to hire a Technical Writer for a full-time position supporting the development, maintenance, and sustainment of a globally deployed PeopleSoft HCM based system. The Technical Writer will be dedicated and enthusiastic in the support of mission-critical projects. Applicants selected will be asked to submit examples of technical writing communications and content they have created.

A current and Active Secret clearance is required to be considered. Applicants must clearly state their current security clearance status when applying.

The person in this role will work REMOTE with occasional visits to a federal facility in Washington, DC.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Implementing communication strategies to establish better end-user awareness of new product/feature releases.
  • Developing new business processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Communications Team.
  • Draft, create, and update Standard Operating Procedures in support of the Communications Team
  • Holding people accountable for deadlines.
  • Managing external communications such as the Monthly Bulletin and releases.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify the public voice of the Overseas Application Support Branch (OAS).
  • Consult with executive government management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations.
  • Draft Bulletins following organizational news.
  • Develop materials to educate staff on new system updates.
  • Coach and assist team members on improving communication deliverables.
  • Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies.
  • Create, edit, and revise various end-user documentation.
  • Draft and update SoPs in support of the Communications Team.
  • Leverage structured writing styles and contribute to its development.
  • Analyze technical information and communication about an enterprise software system.
  • Work with subject matter experts and technical staff to obtain details to author documentation
  • Participate effectively in meetings and take meeting minutes.
  • Meet deliverables on time that are in scope and with high quality.
  • Get along well with a variety of personalities including both internal company colleagues as well as customers.

Qualifications:

  • Must currently possess an Active DOD Secret clearance.
  • 2 - 5 years of successful and verifiable experience in technical communications, including: Writing and editing job aids and other end-user documentation
  • Ability to meet regular documentation deadlines to the customer is a must
  • Ability to be effective working remotely and responsive to the customer and team
  • Have experience with using a structured writing style
  • Have strong knowledge of English grammar and syntax
  • Possess advanced skills with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint applications.
  • Able to teach and learn from technical and non-technical team members, including understanding complex information and explaining it to others
  • Skilled at determining which priorities to work on, given many competing priorities
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 per year
