Overview Registered Nurse - Vascular Access Team - Methodist UnityPoint Health Des Moines Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 paid over 2 years The Vascular Access Team (VAT) RN is an individual, through didactic and supervised practice, has acquired the skill and knowledge necessary for the practice of peripheral IV, PICC and midline placement, troubleshooting and care. The (VAT) RN will assess patients for proper vascular access according to evidence based practice and use ultrasound and other technologies for intravenous placement. The VAT RN will assess and treat vascular access device (VAD) sites for all complications and perform appropriate documentation to support procedures. The VAT RN will perform and act as a consultant to other health care team members regarding the placement, maintenance and troubleshooting of all VAD's. The VAT RN will be a resource for staff, patients and their families in the care and maintenance of all vascular access devices. The VAT RN is responsible for the fiscal viability of the vascular access program by entering the charges for the insertion, properly utilizing equipment, using time productively, and thoroughly collecting data. The VAT RN may be cross trained to support other nursing functions. The VAT RN will work both independently and in conjunction with other members of the patient's care team, and will be a steward of UPHDM's FOCUS values. Why UnityPoint Health?
