The Senior Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for the daily management and administration of the division's import and export compliance program in compliance with U.S. and applicable non-U.S. import/export control laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the Trade Compliance team in strategic development, delivery, and execution of a standardized, dynamic, and world-class trade compliance program
  • Assume responsibility for the management and administration of the company's trade compliance operational activities
  • Monitors trade regulation updates, identifies impacts to business and informs key stakeholders of requirements and changes
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and across-business partners and global locations to ensure compliance with all relevant U.S. and non-U.S. import/export control laws and regulations, economic sanctions, company policies and procedures while enabling the business to achieve its objectives with speed and efficiency
  • Drive alignment of near- and long-term strategies, while determining and making decisions on priorities and tradeoffs of initiatives
  • Identify and oversee the design, creation and tracking of key performance indicators and metrics
  • Identify areas for improvement within the department and work to create automation and efficiencies within the processes.
  • As arises, participate in and/or support investigations, audits or disclosures regarding the company's import, export, sanctions, and other trade compliance activities
  • Based on audit findings, this role will manage/support root cause analysis supporting resolution of compliance issues
  • Oversee processes concerning free trade activities, including Foreign-Trade Zone(s), Maquiladora/IMMEX, bonded warehouse and other related programs
  • Research and monitor local laws, regulations, procedures, and applicable benefits related to import transactions; prepares summaries of new regulations for review by team members; distributes updates and summaries to appropriate supply chain and business unit contacts.
  • Management and tracking of Post Entry audits of division's Customs brokers filings
  • Assist in developing and enhancing the division's import/export licensing and compliance program
  • Management and review of local (HTSUS) Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications for components and finished goods; submit database and required documentation to appropriate parties
  • Manage Value Reconciliation Process and provide direction to improve efficiency and engage required stakeholders in various departments
  • Oversee in the creation of local work instructions and support related import/export training
  • Oversee and create efficiencies within the company's Duty Drawback programs
  • Provide guidance and enhancements to internal auditing of all import/export activities
  • Support trade compliance employee development in the areas of trade compliance
  • Manage a diverse workload which may include changes in priorities and responsibilities

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Business and/or Logistics, Supply Chain, Legal, or similar field
  • 15+ years of experience in trade compliance or closely related field
  • 7+ years of experience in people management, including leading teams, mentoring staff, and overseeing performance and development
  • LCB, CCS/CCLS, CGBP CUSECO or similar certification preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of ERP Business Systems, Global Trade Compliance software and Transportation Management Systems or ability to learn
  • Intermediate knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Adobe, SharePoint, and other productivity applications

  • Analyze Issues - Gathers relevant information systematically; considers a broad range of issues or factors; grasps complexities and perceives relationships among problems or issues; seeks input from others; uses accurate logic in analyses
  • Deep knowledge of tariff classification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. Customs import and export regulations and Incoterms
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills - requires an articulate, detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills (verbal communication, telephone manners, e-mail etiquette)
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task and discern priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in groups with some manager direction, oversight, and guidance
  • Customs Compliance Continuous Improvement and Control - ability to recognize improvement and control opportunities within Trade Compliance, including advising, auditing, quality control and continuous improvement skills
  • Understanding and applying customs regulations, how regulations affect the duties paid, value added tax (VAT) implications.
  • Understands governmental regulations to maintain compliance and retain trade privileges.
  • Thoroughness and Accuracy - ability to be detail oriented, either written, orally, or presented. Able to break down requirements to task levels to achieve project level accomplishment. Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved. Provides accurate, consistent information on all documents. Provides information in a useable form and on a timely basis to others who need to act on it.
