Texas Education THRIVE, a comprehensive educational initiative through the College of Education at UT Austin, provides engagement, support, professional development and networking resources to school districts across Texas. Geared toward both early and mid-career teachers, THRIVE is committed to providing the necessary mentorship and professional learning opportunities that ensure successful and productive careers in education for the betterment of all Texas children.

Purpose

The Program Administrator - Advance Team will lead the THRIVE expansion and onboarding process for new district partners statewide. The Program Administrator will oversee the Central Texas Community of Practice, Principal Advisory Committee, and Leader learning modules of the THRIVE curriculum.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the THRIVE Director and in collaboration with the THRIVE design team, the Program Administrator will:

Lead the Design & Implementation of the Principal Learning Experience

  • Understand the complexity of the school leadership roles and work to incorporate THRIVE into the standard operating procedures of THRIVE schools

  • Understand the role of campus and district leaders in supporting early career teachers and their mentors

  • Create, evaluate, and maintain Principal/District Leader curriculum and resource hub

  • Manage Principal Advisory Committee

  • Conduct focus groups and/or interviews with district staff and aggregate feedback to inform continuous improvement efforts

  • Understand and leverage existing bodies of research and collaborate with subject matter experts

Lead District Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Meet regularly with key district and campus personnel (superintendent, executive staff, board of trustees) to determine needs, ensure programmatic alignment, and monitor progress toward goals.

  • Work with district partners to troubleshoot and create solutions for funding, release time, and structures to support a THRIVE implementation

  • Monitor and update program agreements (MOU, data sharing, etc.), donor agreements, state funding goals and objectives (e.g. TEA Mentor Program Allotment)

  • Liaise between UT College of Education and district partners.

  • Lead implementation of THRIVE District Readiness Assessment and District Engagement Protocols

  • Convene district executives and consultants to respond to data collected by the District Readiness Assessment

Lead Regional THRIVE Expansion

  • Participate in meetings with stakeholders including district and university partners to facilitate ongoing trust and communication, program improvement, and THRIVE expansion

  • Identify exemplar district strategies and practices to share with network

  • Present sample THRIVE professional development to potential district partners

  • Host future partner visits to UT and/or current THRIVE schools to see the model in action

  • Partner with UT System colleagues to develop and test context-specic modules

Lead the Central Texas Community of Practice

  • Expand CoP participation and engagement

  • Hold quarterly CoP convenings and manage logistics of event

  • Recruit and coordinate appropriate guest speakers

  • Facilitate working group meetings between large convenings and assure progress toward goals/deliverables established by each group

Collaborate with the THRIVE Team on Program Initiatives

  • Contribute to planning and implementation of program-wide events (Mentor Academy, Professional Development, Mentor Institute, celebrations, etc.)

  • Work in partnership with the THRIVE team to create, and maintain operational and philanthropic goals

  • Gather and communicate professional development resources to ensure just-in-time support

  • Develop train-the-trainer resources to prepare others to lead program components

  • Participate in academic research and data collection for program evaluation, presentation and publication

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education or related field

  • Texas School Administrator/Principal Certication

  • Experience designing and delivering curriculum for adult learners

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative communities and relationships

  • Experience in inuencing and developing an atmosphere of shared respect, trust, and condentiality with campus staff, district personnel, and teachers

  • Campus principal and/or district leadership experience required

  • Experience implementing, evaluating, and maintaining programs in K-12 schools

  • Experience managing federal, state, or local grant and/or philanthropic gift requirements

  • Understanding of K-12 education systems both campus and central ofce

Preferred Qualications
  • Doctorate earned or in progress

  • Ability to travel within Texas to facilitate and evaluate the implementation of THRIVE (approximately 1-2 days monthly)

  • Texas Superintendent Certicate or in progress

Salary Range

$80,000 + depending on qualifications
