Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Women's and Children's Center at Moses Cone Hospital Description: The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coordinates, delegates and provides primary patient care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) under the supervision of the Neonatal Service physicians. Medical acts performed by the NNP will be those allowed by the rules and regulations governing nurse practitioners practicing in the NICU. Responsibilities: Applies advanced knowledge and clinical expertise to accomplish optimal patient outcomes. Conducts expert clinical assessments in uncomplicated, complex and crisis situations. Directs a multidisciplinary team in development and implementation of care of patients and families. Is an advocate for families. Demonstrates accountability for/promotes own professional growth and development. Demonstrates integrity, commitment, competency, and communication skills while serving as a coach and role model to others. Aids with the development and maintenance of clinical standards, policies and procedures and quality improvement programs by participating in unit and Hospital based teams/committees as indicated. Provides diagnosis and treatment to infants in the NICU to meet hospital guidelines. Initiates and carries out medically acceptable emergency procedures if complications arise until the physician is notified for guidance and/or arrives to assist with management of the complication. Status: Relief (.001 FTE). Shifts: Various. Credentialing: Required at both Greensboro and Alamance Regional Medical Center.
