Unit Nurse Supervisor - Weekend - Skilled Nursing

The Unit Nurse Supervisor provides clinical leadership and supervisory support for all three nursing units at Helen Porter - Memory Care, Long Term Care and Post-Acute Care.

Hours are 7am - 7pm or 11am - 11pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This position is eligible for full benefits.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Provide supervision of the nursing staff.
  • Promote collaboration and teamwork through staff coaching and mentoring.
  • Monitor staffing levels and make adjustments as appropriate or clinically indicated.
  • Conduct safety rounds on all three nursing units while on duty.
  • Assist with clinical assessments and interventions as needed.
  • Serve as a point person with any significant change in condition that results in death or transfer to an acute care facility.
  • Communicate important information to next shift charge nurse.
  • Communicate facility issues, concerns or grievances to the appropriate contact person.
  • Initiate investigation of resident or family member grievances.
  • Interpret, support, and enforce facility policies and procedures.
  • Participate and support quality improvement initiatives as assigned.

Educational Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN or LPN license in good standing, recognized by The State of Vermont State Board of Nursing.

Experience

  • RN with one or more years of experience in post-acute or long term care, or LPN with three or more years of experience.
  • One year of supervisory experience with demonstrated clinical skills and decision-making capabilities.
