SUMMARY:

The eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) Program is the Army National Guard (ARNG) capstone training event for Brigade Combat Teams (BCT) to attain T-Level 3 (T3) training readiness. This position is a fulltime Exempt (salary) position supporting the XCTC Program and may support work originating at any or all the multiple scheduled locations of these events. The XCTC Doctrinal Training Team (DTT) Lead is an advisor, mentor, and subject matter expert (SME) for Brigade and Below Units during planning through execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Responsible for assisting the Rotational Director in designing, planning, preparation and execution of collective training for Army National Guard Brigade Combat Teams.
  • Supports the XCTC program during planning conferences, training site surveys, rehearsals and during exercises.
  • Supports the XCTC rotational director and key tasks include:
  • Oversees the team responsible for the development of Division-level operations orders (OPORDs) tailored to meet the specific training objectives of the rotational unit commander. These OPORDs will enable the rotational unit to concentrate on the specific Mission Essential Tasks (METs) that the commander has identified to be trained during the XCTC rotation.
  • Supervises and directs the team of writers to compose a doctrinally correct Division Order that sets the scenario and provides mission directives to the rotational training unit (RTU) and notional adjacent units.
  • Develops a Mission Execution Scenario List (MESL) in conjunction with the OPORD to support the development / progression of the exercise scenario.
  • Serves as lead HICON cell that delivers developed OPORD during subsequent planning conferences and act as higher headquarters command cell leadership in order to deliver FRAGOS and answers to Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Issue injects during the final planning and preparation and exercise execution from the MESL to drive the RTU s MDMP process.
  • Coordinate all the team actions with the Rotational Director.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Specific Knowledge & Skills Required: Must be knowledgeable in and have a minimum of 8 years' experience with the development, design, planning and execution of large scale, multi-echelon collective training events.
  • Licenses/Certifications/Registrations, etc.: Must possess a valid State Driver's License and maintain Post driving privileges. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to successfully pass the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Awareness compact disk-read-only memory (CD-ROM) course as a minimum training requirement.
  • Communication Skills: Able to read, write and speak fluent English. Must be able to listen with comprehension to assist fellow associates with duties/requests. Must have excellent verbal communication skills for interfacing with military and civilian personnel.
  • Physical/Mental Abilities Required: Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks at the same time under stressful conditions. The highest level of confidentiality and loyalty is required.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Educational Equivalent: Bachelor's degree, subject immaterial (MA or MS degree preferred). Completion of the Command and General Staff College or equivalent level military schooling.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-year battalion Command or 2 years battalion operations experience in a combat arms or combat support unit with either an Army national Guard or United States Army training or maneuver brigade or division. Experience with US Army Mission Command Systems and development of Division-level operations orders (OPORDS) tailored to meet specific training objectives or rotational unit commanders and plans/operations experience at the Battalion level or above.



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position: Office environment, occasionally outdoors. Occasional exposure to natural conditions existing at different locations around the US.

Work Week: Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)

Work Hours: 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements)

Overtime: As Required

Travel: As Required
