The Salvation Army Midland Division Arnold Corps located in Arnold, Missouri, is looking for a Service Center Assistant Director. The Service Center Assistant Director provides leadership support to both staff and volunteers in conjunction with the Service Center Director. This position plays an integral role in the overall growth and development of the Service Center and its Service Extension units within Jefferson County with a significant emphasis on the programming components of the operation.

This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week, with starting pay of $21.00 per hour.

Essential Functions



  1. Provides additional executive leadership of the Service Center.
  2. Assists Service Center Director in developing the budget and monitoring financial aspects of the Service Center.
  3. Participate as a Salvation Army Representative in various community activities, meetings, and groups (Community Resource Team, Jeffco Council for the Unhoused, etc.)
  4. Acts as the primary support to the Jefferson County Salvation Army Disaster Services team and participates in Disaster Service activities including annual training. Recruits additional volunteers and assigns appropriate roles on the team.
  5. Supervises and supports the Service Center Caseworker.
  6. Develops and executes program strategies that enhances current programming and develops new programming.

Minimum Qualifications

Related bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience in related fields, or other combinations of education and experience with at least one year of supervisory experience. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, likes working with others and supports The Salvation Army mission. Team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Requires a valid drivers' license and pass The Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Report check.

Physical and Working Conditions

Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.

Normal work hours to be determined by supervisor.
