Senior Mechanical Engineer Job Summary: Fike Corporation is a market leader in the Pressure Relief, Explosion Protection, and Fire Protection product offerings and is seeking an experienced engineer who thrives in a high-variety, team environment; tackling industrial safety solutions in aerospace, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and many other industries. A senior engineer at Fike Corporation has the opportunity to lead and contribute to new designs in a wide array of applications, build and improve internal processes, help solve customer problems, and work in a collaborative manufacturing environment. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal. 2. Creates, implements, and publishes test procedures and results 3. Uses test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. 4. Evaluates test results for possible application to development of other uses. 5. Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics. 6. Performs project and system design. 7. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks. 8. Confers with other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required. 9. Develops new methods and techniques for pressure protections, rupture discs and related products. 10. Makes recommendations to appropriate personnel on improvements to current production processes to increase efficiency. 11. Researches high level complex product problems and concerns. 12. Interacts with customers to provide engineered solutions to their requirements and product problems. 13. Writes procedures for the operation of new or existing processes. 14. Provides support to the sales department in calculations and application information. Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Essential Skills:
Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment or an industrial setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit, and use hands. Job Qualifications: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. Eight years related post degree experience. Experience with welding programs and processes. PREFERRED: Registered Professional Engineer. Master's degree in a related technical field. Background in pressure vessel or similar design experience.
