The Press has been a member of the Association of University Presses since 1940 and is the largest book publisher in the state. With a full-time staff of 20 publishing professionals, the Press currently publishes 70 new books a year and has over 2,000 titles in print. The Press is also a founding partner of the New Georgia Encyclopedia, the state's award-winning, online only, multimedia reference work on the people, places, events, and institutions of Georgia. |

Position Summary |
The Editorial Assistant is an energetic and highly organized individual who provides editorial and clerical support for the
UGA Press acquisitions editorial unit. The Editorial Assistant reports to the
UGA Press Editor-in-Chief

Under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief, provides administrative and editorial support for multiple acquiring editors, including:
- Facilitating peer reviews
- Sending proposals and manuscripts for external review
- Communicating with authors, readers, artists, and photographers
- Helping to prepare launch forms, early decision memos, board reports, P&Ls, and contract requests
- Maintaining and updating database records and project files
- Acting as the point person for Biblio queries
