Job Overview

Lindner Center of HOPE is a nationally renowned psychiatric center of excellence located in Mason, Ohio, committed to providing state of the art care to patients at all levels of care. We continue to expand our services and are looking for a Licensed Independent Social Worker to serve as the Director of the Addictions Outpatient Program to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work with other very talented psychiatrists and health care professionals in a variety of psychiatric specialties. LCOH is part of the UC Health network and is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic.

The Director of Addictions Intensive Outpatient Program will direct all components of the Addictions Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and manage services for the addiction component of the adult and adolescent residential programs. The Director of Addictions Intensive Outpatient Program will oversee all aspects of the IOP program including the addictions specialist, quality of care, and clinical outcomes. This position will provide assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapies in the Addictions IOP program three (3) evenings a week, as well as provide group and individual clinical work with addiction and co-occurring disorder patients in both outpatient and residential programs. The Director of Addictions Intensive Outpatient Program will be expected to work evening hours Monday through Thursday.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitates IOP program group therapy sessions three evenings a week, managing the overall schedule, flow, and quality of program.
  • Conducts IOP assessments, addresses clinical case disposition assignments including patient transfers, referrals and discharges. Completes treatment plans, progress notes. Ensures client outcomes are completed. Completes all required documentation according to Lindner Center of HOPE requirements.
  • Updates the census log on a daily basis to reflect real time progress with referrals, assessments, IOP census, and aftercare services.
  • Provides clinical supervision to other addiction staff providing services in IOP and residential programs.
  • Participates in and provides clinical information regarding patients for utilization review.
  • Provides consultation for patients on adult and adolescent residential units with addictions and co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Provides individual therapy in the Outpatient practice for patients with addictions and co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA, policies, documentation guidelines, and other related regulatory requirements.

Required Education

Master's Degree must be in Social Work or clinical mental health counseling program, clinical rehabilitation counseling program, or addiction counseling program.

Required Trainings/Certifications

State of Ohio Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

Required Experience

Two (2) years of supervised social work experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Ohio Licensure as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) is ideal.
  • CPR Certification - may be obtained after hired.
  • Experience planning and coordinating a program; ideally an addictions IOP.
  • Experienced working in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient and residential milieus.
  • Experience conducting intensive therapy and case management.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, multicultural and socio-economic issues.
  • Basic advocacy skills. Ability to utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make sound decisions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Computer skills including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skillsnecessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for thespectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
  • Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
  • Five (5) years' experience working with individuals with a history of addiction and co-occurring disorders in a social service/mental health environment.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
