Cust Service Rep - Integrated Supply

About the Role:

As a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at Vallen, you'll work directly at a customer site, serving as the critical link between our customers and the solutions they need. Your role involves managing procurement activities to meet customer demands while ensuring superior standards in pricing, quality, and reliability. You'll play a key part in creating a seamless customer experience while building strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Expertise: Handle purchasing activities to meet customer demands for stock, non-stock, and spot-buy items, all while adhering to Vallen's purchasing strategies.
• Vendor Collaboration: Identify, assess, and recommend vendors to ensure compliance with specifications, quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
• Order Management: Place purchase orders, monitor deliveries, expedite or de-expedite as needed, and communicate order status with customers.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve issues related to product quality, vendor performance, and account payables nonconformance.
• Customer Relationship Building: Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and assigned customers to deliver an exceptional experience.
• Cost Savings Initiatives: Proactively identify and document opportunities for customer cost savings.
• Compliance & Organization: Follow all Standard Operating Procedures, keeping the worksite professional, clean, and organized.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of procurement experience preferred.
• Customer Service Skills: Strong commitment to providing top-tier customer service.
• Technical Proficiency: Aptitude for ERP systems, inventory management applications, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational and execution skills with a keen eye for accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to connect effectively with customers and vendors.
• Drive to Learn: A self-starter with a willingness to grow and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Regular use of a computer for extended periods with repetitive key-boarding activities.
• Potential exposure to manufacturing environments, including dirt, smoke, heat, or cold. Safety equipment (e.g., gloves, goggles, steel-toe boots) may be required on-site.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and potential overtime with minimal notice.
