Job Summary
Responsible for preparation of all aspects of corporate financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements and business unit financial statements. Administers financial and accounting consolidation system and assists in preparing financial reporting under both GAAP and IFRS accounting standards. Ensures closing calendar is adhered to by business units.
Key Duties
Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly management and segment reporting income statements, consolidation files, cash flow statement, balance sheets and other financial reports.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reporting packages as required to support footnote disclosures and analysis.
- Manage all data loads, currency translations, journals and other processes to prepare monthly consolidated financial reporting.
- Serve as global system administrator for financial consolidation system
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of appropriate departmental internal controls to ensure data integrity and data security.
- Improve the accounting team's IFRS accounting guideline adherence, including identifying key differences vs. GAAP accounting principles.
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations for various corporate accounts.
- Prepare materials and information for maintenance, support and renewal of commercial insurance applications; and
- Prepare materials, information, and support for US income tax compliance (Federal and state returns, transfer-pricing studies, etc.).
Other duties as assigned:
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the course of the work day in a multi-location facility;
- Ability to sit for long periods of time, stoop, bend, reach, twist through the course of the work day;
- Must be able to concentrate, analyze and solve complex issues throughout the course of the work day;
- Ability to work on PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day;

- Ability to travel by air/car to other locations of MBI, if needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or Finance.
- Three to Five years of experience in similar roles or public accounting experience with SEC and/or multinational clients.
Competencies Required or preferred
- Knowledge of accounting, finance and budgeting principles, including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS.
- Experience with corporate financial reporting, accounting reconciliations and variance analyses, and ability to work independently thereon.
- Strong computer proficiency and spreadsheet skills (preferably MS Excel, Word) and ability to use automated systems, including enterprise/consolidation system.
- Ability to read, understand and follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines and hold team accountable to these standards.
- Be a self-starter, detail oriented and organized and able to prioritize and balance workloads and meet strict critical deadlines along with performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- High motivation, readily adaptable to changing priorities, can effectively manage own time and prioritize multiple projects to ensure on-time completion.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills and customer service skills (ability to communicate with internal and external customers);
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.
- Must be able to work additional hours outside the course of the normal workday (evenings and weekends) to support department needs;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills; and
- Creativity and receptiveness to new ideas and continuous improvement measures.
