This position manages the weld departments in two of our facilities.
Under the direction of the Director of Production, the Welding Manager ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and lowest cost possible, while meeting company performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Requires a bachelor's degree and one to two years related experience; or two years of college and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or four years of high school and seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is preferred. Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all employees in the Welding department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of specification and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
