Location: Cary, NC or Hoboken, NJ - Hybrid opportunity - 8 days/month office expectation

We are looking for an enthusiastic editor who has experience proofreading/copyediting and writing about clinical and professional topics for a medical audience, who enjoys learning about healthcare topics and who can report on these issues coherently and accurately. This person should be detail oriented and have a keen sense of deadlines, be highly efficient and organized, and excel at managing myriad tasks related to publishing a newsmagazine and its related digital products.

How you will make an impact:

  • By participating in the editorial and production process, by formatting and proofreading manuscripts, and by reviewing page proofs to ensure a high level of editorial and design quality.
  • By reporting on industry meetings to help keep rheumatologists and rheumatology professionals abreast of key events and news.
  • By writing story summaries/abstracts, as needed.
  • By posting content to the digital platform for The Rheumatologist's website (i.e., WordPress) and creating emails using a proprietary platform.
  • By providing administrative support for The Rheumatologist's team to maintain focus on reader engagement and keep the publication running efficiently and ethically; tasks will include and tracking and collecting copyright transfer agreements, performing research, and other editorial and administrative tasks as assigned.

  • A highly detail-oriented editor, who is experienced with AP style and can adhere to a custom style guide.
  • A strong writer with a clear voice and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A lifelong learner who enjoys reading about and reporting on medical topics.
  • Someone who is digitally savvy and has comfort with content management systems, website management and metrics reporting.
  • A self-starter, comfortable working as part of a remote team.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the UK, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
