PGE Summer Intern - Net Metering Project Coordinator (PM)

To be eligible for PGE's Internship program, you must be at least 18 years old and have met one of the following criteria:

A high school senior that has enrolled in a college or trade school

A current college or trade school student who is returning to college or a trade school as a full-time student

A recent 2022-2023 college graduate

You must provide verification of your student status by submitting your college transcript (an unofficial one is acceptable) or letter of acceptance to a college or trade school with your online application. You will have the opportunity to upload your documents during the online application process.

Undergraduate Business Intern - Net Metering Project Coordinator (PM)

PGE's internship program allows its participants to gain professional learning that offers meaningful, practical, work-related experience while providing support for the organization.

The Interconnection Services team is at the forefront of enabling the deployment of new green resources as we decarbonize the grid.

They manage the interconnections of all new generation and storage resources to the PGE system. In this role, you will learn about how new resources connect as we decarbonize the grid.

You will work on Interconnection Application processing and supporting other ad hoc projects. We hope you will learn how a utility functions, and gain work experience in the renewables and utility space.

In this role you will:

  • Be excited to learn about the decarbonization of our business!
  • Process Interconnection Applications.
  • Perform data validation and entry.
  • Data Audit.

We are looking for applicants with the following experience:

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Complete tasks within critical deadlines
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge/ability to use various software programs. (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, email, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Provides support to the business in various functions throughout PGE.

  • Departmental Support: May perform administrative, coordination or technical tasks, such as completing spreadsheets in support of department assigned.
  • Research and Analysis: May perform research and analysis under general supervision. May gather qualitative or quantitative data and develop reports or spreadsheets.
  • Internship Program: Events May participate in company-sponsored internship activities.

Education/Experience

  • Currently an actively enrolled undergraduate student (recent graduate or GED accepted) in good standing and pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to the internship; GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
  • Some prior volunteer or work experience preferred.
  • A valid Drivers License with a history of good driving practices.

Physical Capabilities

  • Driving/travel/commute: Daily within service territory - Occasionally (one to two times a month or less)
  • Computer use (use computer regularly for entire work shift)
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling: Up to 10lbs.
  • Carrying: Up to 10lbs.
  • Unstable surfaces requiring balance: Walking distances and surfaces (long distances and over rough, uneven or rocky surfaces)

Compensation Range:

$16.00 - $36.00

Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education.
