Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Mailman School of Public Health: Environmental Health Science Location 02 Open Date Jul 20, 2024 Salary Range or Pay Grade $71,050-$75,000 Description Position Description The Miller and Singh Labs at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health has opening for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position with expertise in the field of exposomics, metabolomics, mass spectrometry, or cheminformatics. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will work on an exciting funded project exploring the gene x environmental interactions and how they alter drug metabolism. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist, under the supervision of the Principal Investigators in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences, will be responsible for studies utilizing high-resolution mass spectrometry. Duties assigned require an in-depth knowledge of small molecule analytical chemistry, high resolution mass spectrometry-based non-target analysis and data processing, drug and xenobiotic metabolism, and statistical analysis. General duties involve organizing and implementing complex research plans, developing high-throughput sample preparation, HRMS data collection and analysis, and writing reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content. Preferred Qualifications: This successful applicant will be able to make substantial contributions to the fields of exposomics and metabolomics. It is expected that the applicant will have experience analyzing complex mass spectrometry data, it is possible that other cheminformatic skills could provide the necessary skillset. |
