THE OPPORTUNITY

This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers works together with one of the nation's premier health systems, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking to hire a full time Assistant Professor to join our team of six faculty members in the division of Pediatric Nephrology. This position requires a background in Pediatric Nephrology subspecialty. Responsibilities will include patient care and residency and fellowship education. Opportunities for clinical research exist. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position will be a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits.

Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum degree requirement of MD or DO and must have or be able to obtain an active NYS Medical License;
* Must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology;
* Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines;
* The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions; and
* The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
