Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Collections Coordinator in the Wheeling (Global Operations & Innovation Center) office in Wheeling, WV.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinates workload of full complement of attorney portfolios.
  • Analyzes and targets accounts receivable items for follow-up with attorneys and clients.
  • Works with the Billing Attorneys and office staff to develop trusting and collaborative relationship with regard to billing and collections process.
  • Establishes consistent and open line of communication with the Billing Attorneys regarding accounts receivable portfolio as relevant to existing policies and protocols.
  • Coordinates the payment process by developing and maintaining an ongoing working relationship with client personnel in their administrative, legal, and accounting departments.
  • Contact delinquent accounts and request payment to bring the accounts current.
  • Coordinates the collection efforts including writing (email), telephone calling, and communicating with accounts payable personnel to determine the payment status of a bill.
  • Establishes alternative payment plan for payment of delinquent accounts, if client is unable to make payment in full.
  • Provides necessary backup requested by the client.
  • Updates and maintains client accounts receivable file in Expert Collections collection module.
  • Acquire complete understanding of Expert Collections and provide training to billing and collections team.
  • Communicate and update billing attorneys on accounts receivable status and provide input to attorneys for possible actions on a particular receivable.
  • Monitor daily cash receipts for regular payments, negotiated payments, and unapplied funds.
  • Special projects and duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or similar degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • One to three years of related collection or client service experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Proficiency with Excel/MS Word and Windows environment.
  • Ability to become familiar with and navigate through our billing and accounts receivable systems
  • Initiative and service-oriented approach to clients and attorneys required.
  • Excellent time management, project management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills required.
  • Experience in a professional services firm preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $34,000.00 and $46,000.00.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
