Your Role on the Team Recognized functional expert who leads the divisional level Human Resources and Payroll department as Director and Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) and member of DFA cabinet reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chancellor for the Division of Finance and Administration (DFA). Regularly leads human resources projects of criticality to the organization, as well as driving people-related activities across the division in support of the strategic plan and priorities for the division, central human resources, and the university. Incumbent utilizes comprehensive and in-depth human resources expertise to provide guidance and recommendations regarding strategic direction to the organization and its leaders. Works closely with leaders and stakeholders on human resources matters that are the most diverse and complex in scope where analysis of data and situations requires evaluation of many factors and implications with broad impact on the organization. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and ensures the HR team effectively guides and supports people actions which are compliant with labor laws, as well as UC policies, procedures and practices, while aligning with operational and strategic priorities. Is considered a subject matter expert of the organization and often recognized as an expert externally in the industry. Includes oversight of the DFA Payroll team, which is responsible for payroll activities for DFA, including timekeeping oversight, processing payroll, cost transfers in coordination with DFA Finance, and managing divisional payroll functions.
