Team Summary: Within NOA IT's Consumer Online & Publisher Solutions department, the Publisher Solutions (3PT) team is responsible for building and maintaining tools for both consumer and business partners. This team is responsible for the Nintendo Publisher Tool (NPT), a web application responsible for B2B processes for 2nd & 3rd party games published on the Switch platform - https://publisher.nintendo.com/
Job Summary: This position acts as the front-line manager for a team of engineers and analysts that design and build some of Nintendo's most distinct and important tool sets for both our consumer and business partner audiences. This role will help ensure that the teams that build these tools are collaborative, dedicated, innovative and of high integrity. This role will collaborate extensively with other engineering teams at Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Europe, and Nintendo HQ in Japan, as well as with other engineering managers, program managers and senior level leadership across the company.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs activities of the organization, as well as providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the department.
  • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective software solutions for all aspects of the organization.
  • Monitors and maintains hardware/software technology to ensure maximum access and efficient, secure, and stable environments.
  • Establishes and manages appropriate standards and controls, policies, and procedures for assigned areas.
  • Establishes and manages team and department goals, objectives, and metrics.
  • Supports senior leadership with long-term tactical plan development.
  • Oversees and manages contracts, budgets, and vendors.
  • Collaborates with other teams and business constituents to provide day to day operational support and project excellence.
  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in timely manner including root cause analysis.
  • Creates disaster recovery plans, scripts, and tests.
  • Ensures work is compliant with established processes, JSOX and other internal controls (i.e., SDLC, change management, production control, following standards, architecture review, incident response, PCI and PII information security, etc.).
  • Manage, develop, and oversee a team of 5-10 software engineers. Conduct interviews for contractors as well as full time employees, providing feedback and guiding hiring decisions for the team.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:



  • Requires a minimum of six to eight (6 - 8) years of related experience, including previous people management experience.
  • In-depth understanding of processes, procedures, controls, standards, platforms, technologies and best practices for assigned areas.
  • Intermediate to advanced project and program management knowledge.
  • A proven track record of managing, organizing, overseeing and delivering on complex projects.
  • Understanding of the video game distribution business and industry preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent or combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff in a dynamic environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced project and program management knowledge
  • Experience managing delivery of enterprise scale, complex applications.
  • Working experience with deployment automation, microservices architecture, and cloud-based development
  • Experience working with global development teams on enterprise web applications.
  • Background in full-stack end-to-end development experience preferred.
  • Passion for video games a plus
  • Technology stack includes - Python, TypeScript, React, MySQL, MuleSoft, Terraform, AWS (API Gateway, CDK, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, ECS, IAM, Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3) etc.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $137,000 - $246,500 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
