Job Summary

The AIVO Program Analyst administers payments to venues and reimbursements to institute staff for activities related to the grants managed by the department. The position will also monitor fund balances between different categories of expenses and be highly involved in venue logistical details. The AIVO Program Analyst also is highly involved in the execution of events that benefit AI education.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 1 year of working with execution of events
  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an education related subject.
  • 1 year of working with reimbursements
  • 2 years working with execution of events, preferably education related
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of UC Davis travel policy
  • Working knowledge of UC Davis AggieEnterprise financial system

Department Overview

Within the UC Davis Office of Research, the AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems (AIFS) operates as a department that leads a multi-university effort to conduct research into the transforming the food system via AI. AIFS is also the lead organization for grants from the National Science Foundation and Google.org, funding the AI Institutes Virtual Organization (AIVO). AIVO coordinates programs that benefit all (currently) 27 national AI institutes (see aiintitutes.org).

Reimburse payments of approximately $1M in expenses incurred by AI institute staff nationwide at various AI institutes participating in AI education related events. Work with venues hosting events during the initial setup, execution, and reimbursement of expenses. Arrange A/V as needed for events. Arrange food and catering as needed for events. Travel if needed to AI education event venue to assist with registration and smooth operation.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space.

8-5, hybrid, 3 day minimum/week in person at office on UC Davis campus, working with AIVO and other department staff. Adjustable height desk with 2 monitors and provided UCD laptop. Open office work area on one of two floors used by department.
